A Sofa Fit For Barbie...
And Whoever Else!
{Dune - Cocoon}
After nine years in its original New York location, Dune has moved to a 3,500-square-foot space designed with assistance from Slade Architecture principals James and Hayes Slade. "We were building during the height of the recession, but we were determined to make our mark with an installation to match the quality of our products," founder and president Richard Shemtov says. To ensure that product predominated, Shemtov requested a subdued backdrop: white walls and ceiling, gray porcelain floor tile, and quietly luxurious gray paneling for the rear sales area.

A few months prior to construction, Shemtov designed furniture to launch when the showroom debuted. His Double Zero round cocktail table comes in 18 satin-finished or high-gloss polyurethane colors or 12 wood veneers, the steel supports painted silver, gold, or bronze. The solid oak frame of the Cocoon sofa, 91 inches wide and 37 deep, comes in countless finishes with a wide variety of fabric and leather upholstery choices.
